About Me
Tony Iniguez emerged as a student influenced by the evolving fashion and the dynamic counter culture of the underground Los Angeles club and music scene, into a Costume Designer known for his jagged and no-holds barred approach to avant-garde design. He seamlessly blends the glitter and electric fashion of the 70’s, the glam and raucous attitude of Sunset Boulevard of the 80’s and the soulful tones of 50’s Cinema into original fashion works of art.
Following his dreams, he studied at Los Angeles Trade Technical College and earned a degree in Fashion Design culminating in receiving the Gold Thimble, awarded to the best design of the year. As the drag community’s popularity increased among the general public with avenues such as Rupaul’s Drag Race, Iniguez’s passion for design found its second awakening. He dedicated himself completely to fashion design and reopened his design studio and started Tony Iniguez Designs. He has worked with thousands of Drag and Trans performers all around the world. Along with dressing some of the most popular Drag Queens in the world, he has also dressed mainstream icons such as Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain. Additionally, he was sought out by pop mega-star Ariana Grande’s stylist to create a look for her “God is a Woman” video. His designs have appeared on Bravo’s Botched, Germanys Next Top Model, and The Boulete Brother’s Dragula. Most recently, he created some of the dancer costumes for Christina Aguilera’s Las Vegas residency.
He was named 2015 Designer of the Year at the 6th Annual Raw Awards. In 2017, he was named Designer of the Year at the Werrrk.com Drag Awards at the Los Angeles Rupaul’s Drag Con. Tony has also worked on numerous films and stage productions. In the Summer of 2019, he was hired as the lead Costume Designer for Rupaul’s Drag Race Live Las Vegas Show at the Flamingo. His designs have been on many episodes of Rupaul’s Drag Race and will be showcases Rupaul’s Celebrity Drag Race. “Designing for Drag Queens has opened many doors for me. I am currently a member of the Costume Designers Guild and I just showed by latest collection at LA Fashion Week. Designing for Drag is a fantasy come true.”
